Swiss Valley Trail

Leisurely 7 mile walk, along the Swiss Valley Trail, beginning from Llanelli Leisure Centre, following the Route 47 cycle path, towards the Upper and Cwm Lliedi Reservoirs. The Swiss Valley Trail is built on the site of the former Carmarthenshire Railway—the earliest operational public railway in Great Britain, authorised by an Act of Parliament in 1803. Graig Fawr, Cefn Drum

Length: 8.5 miles — Grade: Moderate

Moderately demanding, circular 8-mile ramble, starting out from Pontardulais Station, proceeding through the outskirts of the town, following the route of St Illtyd’s Way to ascend Graig Fawr, passing its trig point (OSBM S2002TP3429). Llanfihangel-rhos-y-corn

Moderate 10 miles

Moderate 10-mile ramble, starting from the car park at Keepers Lodge, about a mile north of Brechfa. Route principally  follows the course of the Afon Marlais, through the woodland of the Brechfa Forest, before traversing moorland to the cairn and “shalom” sculpture and trig point (S2528, TP218), marking the summit of Mynydd Llanfihangel-rhos-y-corn.
